Members of the Graphic Communications International Union, AFL-CIO, CLC, the largest and most progressive union in the printing industry in North America, recently voted to merge with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to become the Graphic Communications Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, or, more simply GCC/IBT.
The 175,000 members of the GCC/IBT belong to over 500 local unions in the United States and Canada. Individually and collectively, they are dedicated to advancing the economic and other interests of their industry and of working people.

The former GCIU was the result of five mergers. [For details, see GCIU History.] In an era of revolutionary
technological change in communications -- accompanied by wholesale corporate
restructuring worldwide -- the GCIU's organic drive to unite
all crafts within the graphic arts industry represents the only
effective way for working people to meet these challenges.
